Adult Portraits

My very first portrait was one of my son who is my youngest child.  He had left for college.  While the children were home, they were my focus, so now that they were all gone, I decided to get back to painting.  I had tried unsuccessfully to paint a portrait in the past.  I ordered a book, Portraits from Life in 29 Steps, by John Howard Sanden.  Using his instruction, I was able to paint my first successful portrait, which is shown in the thumbnail on the left below.  Instead of painting from life, I used a recent snapshot of him.  I was pleased with the result and have continued to paint when I can.
