Dana's Personal Philosophy
Success for me is being able to earn a living doing the things I love to do. I love to put my hands to work at creative endeavors.

Some have expressed surprise that I am both an artist and a fine woodworker. To me they are almost the same. Both involve many of the same skills. The only difference is the mediums and the tools. The medium for my art is oil paints and canvas; the medium for my woodworking is wood. My tools for art are brushes, palette knives, sponges, fingers and anything else that moves, smoothes, blends and manipulates paint. Tools for woodworking are saws, drills, knives, chisels, clamps, sandpaper or anything else that manipulates wood. Both art and woodworking are creative and require design skills.

I believe that I am here on this earth for a reason. Each of us has a set of personality traits, skills and abilities. We each have physical abilities, mental abilities and spiritual gifts with which we can contribute to the world around us. For me, fulfillment in life comes as I use those gifts and abilities in service to others and as an expression of worship to God.

My ultimate goal in life is to express my faith in God by using the creativity and skills in ways that honor him. Creative work is much more than a way to make a living; it is an expression of worship. It is an extension of who I am as a created being. It is a means of fulfilling my purpose in life.
